Parent Layer: Land Use Planning

Name: Limits of Annexation

Display Field: DESCRIPTIO

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: Growth boundaries, known as Limits of Annexation. Need to contact City-County Planning Dept for further information about this data. Copy of SDE data layer named Database Connections\SDE_GIS.sde\gis.ITD1.Planning\GIS.ITD1.Limits_of_Annexation. The Limits of Annexation reflect an adopted City Policy that define areas where the City Staff could support annexation if requested. A map has been prepared showing limits of annexation for three time periods. The first time period covers five years and coincides with the time period of the existing Capital Improvements Plan. The second time period covers fifteen years beginning after the last year of the existing Capital Improvements Plan. The last period begins after the last year of the second time period and the ending year shall be considered long range and remain undefined. It is not a designated growth boundary although it could function that way. Because the map is part of a policy, it shouldn’t be disseminated without the text. A copy of the policy and map can be found on the City of Billings website at http://ci.billings.mt.us/Online/PDF/Government/planning/AnnexationPolicy.pdf Jan 27, 2007: Adjusted this copy of Limits_of_Annexation to show revisions to include Harmony Meadows Sub, Dover Ranch property, and Lot 22 of Sunny Cove Fruit Farm for Council. Aug 5, 2007: Updated layer to reflect updates to City Limits boundary; deleted Lockwood area from layer--per Candi Beaudry map markups. Nov 13, 2007: Updated layer to reflect updates to City Limits boundary. Feb 14, 2008: Updated layer to reflect revisions made by Planning Dept. for March Council meeting.
